Hahei is a small town on the North Island of New Zealand, about 110 miles (175 km) southeast of Auckland. It is a popular holiday destination, although not so internationally known. When I planned my 2013 New Zealand photography expedition, I realized that Hahei Beach was not only a good tourist spot, but it also had another interesting feature — Cathedral Cove, just on the other side of the beach.
