 Our member Mabel Cedrón's  book 'Fragments of an Ephemeral Space' is awarded with Gold in the category books in the famous PX3 – Prix de la photography Paris, this year.

ABOUT MABEL'S BOOK

"Fragments of an Ephemeral Space" tries to show a fragmented vision of the current Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion.
It is divided into 6 chapters where the Pavilion is fragmented.
Each page contains sequences in which you can find individual photos, diptychs, triptychs and even polydiptychs.

It is approached from the Materials, through the Symbolism, the Interspaces, Nature, the Sculpture of the Dawn (replica of the original by Georg Kolbe) and the Pavilion itself.

The photographs have a more poetic or author's vision, sometimes even approaching it in an abstract way but also sometimes showing a more descriptive part of the Pavilion.

Why an EPHEMERAL SPACE, because it was created as the German Pavilion for the International Exhibition that was held in 1929 in Barcelona by Mies Van der Rohe and Lilly Reich, and after its closure it was dismantled in 1930. It was not until 1980 when the initiative to its reconstruction. What was initially a temporary construction has become a symbolic work of the Modern Movement.

In the month of March I signed up for an Online Course at a School of Visual Arts to take a course in Architectural Photography with the aim of improving and continuing to learn. At the suggestion of our teacher we had to do a project about a building in our city, I chose my favorite "The Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion" so there I decided to leave my comfort zone and let myself go without something preconceived and that is how it was born.

About PX3 - PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE PARIS

The prestigious Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3) highlights exceptional photography talent from around the globe, which has been celebrated if I'm not wrong since 2007.

Every year, professional and amateur photographers submit their best work across a myriad of categories, which is then judged by leading editors, publishers, curators, gallery owners, consultants, creative directors, and art directors.

Every year, a few months after the winners are announced, an EXHIBITION of the winners is held in Paris and an Annual Book is published.
In 2022 I had the Honor of Winning the Award - Best New Talent in the Architecture (Non-professional) category, being the winner of 1st place and 2 other Honorable Mentions.

This year, in addition to winning the Gold Award in the Book/Other (Non-Professional) Category, I have also won 1 Honorable Mention in Architecture.
