This weeks PoTW comes from the Still Life genre of art, and as such, is a very popular section of the site. The ability to render inanimate subjects in a way that brings a new light to them is perhaps a simple thing to do, yet in reality is so hard to achieve.
The photographer Linda D Lester has achieved that difficult task with an elegant, yet superficially simple approach. Less is more is an over used term, but as is shown here, it is very effective in execution. The opalescent tones of the bottle seem to blend subtly into the background alowing the equally gentle tones of the flower to dominate yet never overwhelm. Very nicely done Linda.
