Let's start with the definition of inspiration: “The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially something creative.” Source: Oxforddictionaries.com
No inspiration? It happened to me, I had no idea for my next magazine article.
But I remembered a few articles published earlier this year about visual poetry.
Then I ‘met’ a beautiful poem too. It saved me…
I will just let the words of this poem speak, however I combined each verse with some beautiful images that matched my feelings when reading – and I was amazed how nicely the ideas started flowing just by reading…
Is this ‘true’ visual poetry? I guess not, but it is a true source of inspiration to find amazing photos. Hunting for them with the words and thoughts the poet brings.
Follow me in reading and enjoying….
The poem was written by William Wordsworth (1770-1850 / England) a romantic poet and it is titled:
"I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud"
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
'Lonely cloud' by Stefan Eisele
'Lonely walker in the mist' by Eddy Verloes
'Milky way and daffodils' by Ales Krivec
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay.
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
'Lost in the stars' by Alfredo Costanzo
'Alone with the arch' by Carlos Solinis Camalich
'the Red Wake' by Carmine Chiriacò
'Polar Night' by Tomasz Wozniak
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed- and gazed- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought.
'Northern lights' by Willy Marthinussen
'Poetic crossroads' by Leszek Paradowski
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
The flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
'In Deep Thought' by Colmar Wocke
'Amca ve Teyze' (Uncle and Aunt) by Ali Ayer
'Dance in the fall wind' by Rob Li
This poem is also known as "Daffodils", and dances with daffodils is so wonderfully photographed by David Dubnitskiy as you can see. I never found it if the poem had not guided my search.
As always, I just express my personal views and feelings… also in selecting these specific 1x.com images. Let me know if one of your images carries the mood and thoughts of this poem…
Next time you lack inspiration, just take a poem and the ideas for images to make will start flowing…

Vladimir Asriyan A beautiful article is written in the language of inspiration. Synthesis of literature and photography. Very often, poetic lines want to be transferred to the "canvas". I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you, Wicher. Thank you, Yvette. )) |
