Hello,
I would like to ask what the exact criteria are for a photograph to be selected as awarded on 1x.com.
I have several photos that received very high approval rates from member curators and/or expert curators (over 90% and even 95%), yet they were not awarded.
Could you please explain how the final selection process works? Thank you for your clarification.
Kristjan you have hit on sore point we all don't know, We all have many images with high score and not awarded. We all have some with not so high scores awarded. As the Head Curators never comment one way or the other we can only guess. I have a 98% / 100% not awarded it makes no sense in my book. If you ever find out the logic will you please let us all know.

Hi Kristjan,
I can't explain the criteria for awarding a photo. Only the head curators know that.
I'm attaching a message already posted in another forum section in response to a similar question.
It's not the approval ratings received during the curation process that determine the awards, but the judgment of the head curators.
I checked my photographs (for simplicity's sake, I only checked the results of the expert curators).
I currently have 69 photos with scores above 90, and of these, only 19 were awarded. Others with lower approval ratings were, however, awarded.
The strange thing is that these 69 photos are concentrated in just 4 percentage values: 100% (5 photos), 99% (24), 98% (16), 93% (24). Not a single one with percentages of 91, 92, 94, 95, 96, or 97%.
Aside from this curiosity, in general, with a few exceptions, I quite agree with the head curators' decisions, at least as far as I'm concerned.
In my experience, photos are awarded within a few hours of publication, although official notification (email) and republishing among the award-winning entries usually takes four days or so.
Warm greetings.
For my understanding, its all up to head curator to decide.
member votings are just reference for us to see how popular is the image for others, which may be nothing to do with publish/award.
Just my own thoughts with my experience though.
