As a result of finding out that 1x can market, assign, subrogate the rights of an image published on the web.
The question arises as to what is the difference between marking the photos as being for sale.Is there someone who has the photos for sale and can comment if they sell any photos and what is the approximate amount of each photo and the average income they get???

Hi Miguel,
Yes, you can indeed sell photos on 1x and our over 130 resellers around the world by making them available for sales. The prices varies a lot for different sizes and materials. We have some photographers who earn thousands of euros every month.
Good light, Ralf
Hi Miguel Angel,
We know each other from the critique forum, and you may have had a look at my portfolio when we exchanged.
Photos sell for a big variance in pricing, mine were from below one dollar to $40, average is then about $7-8, I'd say. But that strongly depends on your motifs. Some might sell in small format or even as postcards, some may be bought as a large dibond print.
That said, I think a lot of your photos are quite unlikely to be sold. Street photography where unknown people do nothing special in an environment which could be everywhere, no humor or strong mood, unsuasual perspective or light involved will probably not find large interest. I'm referring to e.g. "Social inequalities", "Loneliness", "Wild Beauty", "Perspectives", "The farewell". People really inetersted in such kind of photos probably shoot similar scenes and don't buy prints from others.
You have to think in the mind of the customer to sell. They spend significant money to have a photo print, and will probably decorate their wall somewhere. What will they look for? Maybe a certain color, something that cheers them up or conveys a certain mood (my absolute high-runner, sold 70 times is dark, triste), facinates in some way. ALmost everybody considers himself a photographer today, so it's beneficial if you offer something a hobby photographer isn't capable to do. Erotic photos for example, or edits, like your "Visiones", something that requies a few more skills than a mobile phone photographer has, like your "Lights of the City of Madrid" maybe.
I sell mainly landscapes, flower macros, some architectural abstracts. In that order of frequency. I doubt simply street will sell, maybe with a good portion of humor involved.
Best regards,
Mike
Hi Mike.
First of all, thanks for your reply on this.
I didn't do it then, but I've done it now to try to know what you were talking about.
I think I understand what you want to convey to me and I agree.1x I only use it to find out what people think of my street photography.
I mainly do landscapes, but I don't upload anything here, I do it on 100ASA.
By the way, and given that I think you are a fairly clear and direct person,
what would be the amount that the sale of your photographs here in 1X has reported to you during this year????
So I could get an idea of myself and any of the possible expectations seeing and comparing your level with respect to others....
Thanks, Mike.
All the best.

Hola Miguel,
I rather answer you in private. It's a bit difficult to say, because some partner shops, like fineartamerica also take "published only". So it increased a lot vs. two years ago, where only awarded were taken.
Best regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Do you know if 1x keeps data on who buys prints? Is it primarily individuals or are there also interior designers and decorators who buy many photos at a time for business offices., hotels and hospitals? The latter is popular in the US and many of the photos are very simple with a calming mood.
Are most of the partners in the EU or are there some in the US?
Thanks.
Al
Hello Al,
Since the majority of prints is probably sold by partners, I doubt that information is available. Please keep in mind that I'm - though listed as team member - in the utter most cases don't have any more visibility on the internals of 1x than any other member. This is definitely a question for Jacob and Ralf.
Best regards,
Mike
