Pipeline of publishing

Hi, I am a new member. I am still learning the “system” of 1X. I submitted a picture a few days ago and was in the publishing pipeline. This afternoon, I found my picture was removed and got rejected. Anybody has an idea what happened? Does this happen frequently? Many thanks if someone can get back to me. Thanks in advance.

Hi May I bet that was quite a shock when you are not expecting it. Yes let me put you in the picture. You join 1x.com - you can place many image in your portfolio but please only your very best would help your standing. You can now put forward any image for publication - on the front page of glory. All images in selection will be judged first by all members voting and then the final decision is in the hands of thr curators. Of all images in selection only 1% are published. The very Best of the Best. You have one published I see Congratulations - So now you know the high standard required. Can you do it again and again. May We all have rejected images join the club. You can leave any rejected image in your portfolio if you wish.

Hi Sas well it should have showed up in latest Pics and you should have had a email. I have checked the queue and it's not there wainting in limo. Jacob is working very hard in the background so I know things can go wrong with the new gamma. My only advice go higher up the ladder. You could try 1x.com support

Hi all, according to what is written here *What do you think about "https://gamma.1x.com/* from now on there will be two type of pictures 'published' in 1x.com:

1 - picture 'published' (but it would be better writing 'admitted in your own gallery')

2 - picture published (in its strict term) in the main gallery (the 'latest' main page of the site)

I had a recent picture 'admitted' in my gallery but not published in the 'latest' main page of the site too.

Two possibilities of being published and it is confusing. One is published and doesn't appear on the frontpage. The other one is Published and awarded. Which is like it was up untill very recently. I only see the last possibility as the only right one. For me the first doesn't count. I always remove pictures that are not published. In my opinion it is simply not good enough and should be removed.

Published and awarded also means a star added after the caption and 1x logo. In the past this meant curators choice. This gave some extra recognition, I had only one among 167 other pictures that were published, but it meant something to me. I don't think that I count the one that was seen as published and not as published and awarded, no star, no frontpage. Why isn't it possible to remove it?

Strange as it might be, it seems that my picture

is still waiting for the verdict of 'expert curators' whereas the 'head curators' have already rejected it.

Given the istruction released from Jacob this makes no sense to me. Any idea?

No idea ... or could it be you have borders around your images. Click on upload and read the rules... Just maybe you crossed the line.

I always remove pictures that are not published. In my opinion it is simply not good enough and should be removed.

Mhhhmmm, Gert, you should have made an assessment on your picture before uploading it. Either you think it's a good picture and worth uploading. Then you should upload it. Or you think it's not that good then you should avoid uploading it.

And independent from the decision of the head curators you should not change your mind about your picture !

Did you get your problem solved? I have the same issue - that my picture is accepted and is under my Published tab. The curation status is Published, but I haven't received email and haven't seen it in the Gallery. If your problem got solved, would you mind sharing what you did? May G there are now two levels of a published image. 1. Published by expert curators, no email this image will go into your profile but not onto the front page of latest images. 2. published by head curators the crew as we all know them from the classic 1x.com email sent on the front page and on you Pfrofile. Publish No 1 can go on to be published by the crew at a later date... or not.

Hi Oscar I've had a look ar your profile and I see you both types of images on show - both published and published and awarded. Your Docklands image is a published image without award but may get that at a later date. Open up an image you will see a star near the title on all images that have an award. Those that don't have an award no star.

I've just read that there are some 130 expert curators. Could you give some estimate of how many photos are in curation, and ap;proximately how m uch time is given to each photo? How many experts even see a photo before it is even curated?

Classic is still working so you can still upload up to 20. Yes that long time in selection needs cutting down in so way... I get your point.

Whether you upload in Classic or Gamma is indifferent for the time in curation. The curation process is the same, and indeed much longer than before.

Jacob, is this the new normal or just a start up difficulty ???

The image "companioning" will be awarded within the next few days. You will receive an email when it is shown on the front page. The other two images are published but not awarded.

I do not quite understand why 1x has changed this with publishing and front page exposure. If a picture is published, but does not appear on the front page, then it gets the same status as a picture you have on your portfolio, ie little or no attention. I think in relation to sales, it is important that you get the image exposed in various media. No, I think this was a step back ....

Hi Xan I don't think this is normal times with all the udates - Selection is not working as is should. Give it a few days to see if things work out. I have two images " Not Selected " in Gamma but still in curation in Classic. Also I can't delete them..

This is a site for photographers. Your photos are mainly real estate publicity. If you try to upload these photos they Will be removed and your account will be suspended.

Yes I agree with this and am little confused by the new way of curation and publishing too.

Very recently I was fortunate enough to have two publications:

1. This Photo shows as 'Published': https://1x.com/photo/2106292

2. This Photo shows as 'Published and Awarded' and shows on Front Page: https://1x.com/photo/2106691

Where I am getting confused is with the first photo example where it is showing as 'Published', but is not awarded for the front page.

What does this mean now?

In the past, from how I understood it, any published photo would show on the front page.

But now if a photo is showing as published, but is not awarded, then does that mean that it is has met the criteria for a publication?

And if so, then why shouldn't it be put onto the front page? In my opinion perhaps 1x should evaluate the process....?

Does an image which shows 'Published' (but is not awarded by the Head Curators) still mean it has met the requirements for as a high quality image and that it truly has been published?

And would that still be a worthy accomplishment, even without being put onto the front page?

The popularity rating does not determine if a photo is awarded or not, the head curators make that decision. I'm not entirely sure what the criteria for publication are, so if that decision is taken by an expert curator or if it's due to a certain score in the algorithm. A while ago I've had a photo in curation that didn't score very well (very low to be precise) in the popularity rating, but it was published nonetheless. Maybe Jacob can clarify.

my opinion even 100% point from curators rating now affects only indirectly and being awarded is like 500px or artlimited and so on - the editor 's choice ...
