Hi Marc

That is the challenge :) ... maybe look for a small place with melted snow with a flower !!!!!

Know it has to be tough for some, it is officially spring but not to worry, we will have a second spring at a later date :) ... btw locally we are still in Summer !!

For me, spring means new species of birds and waterfowl for this newbie bird photographer. Today I went hunting for the Wood Duck and was not disappointed!!

Well I was going to attempt to go and see how the spring weather is coming around, however the wind chill today was -20C. So I went looking thru my database of photos for a march spring photo and I ended up in 2005, wow, its been a long time since we had an early spring :-(

So here is a black duck having a bit of fun in some open water, this was taken with the original Canon Rebel with a 100-400 lens. Not bad considering the capacity of this camera,

Beautiful Marc and does seem a little cold in your area, will be nice when it warms up, and should not be long !!

Like the low perspective and perfect timing, knowing behavior sure makes a difference. ... I think the girl is just showing off :) Hurts seeing them floating around in that cold water but seem to be just fine and happy !!!

Thanks so much, Al. They really do seem happy. There was just one couple of Wood Ducks around all the Mallards and all they did was swim around, enjoying the small section of open water in the pond.

Love the soft movement in the wings and the fact that you're showing this Mallard's environment - very lovely job, Marc!

Spring for me will always be the amazing winds during evening time. The coloured surroundings and the rains that take place sometimes. Tried to represent a bit of it with these almost dying cosmos flowers. These were shot at a garden near our house.

Beautiful Harsa, shooting into the sun with close up flowers produces a special look; The low angle accentuates the mood.

Does have spring all over, excellent capture

I see it's been over a week since any new images have appeared for this Spring Theme.....just thought I'd bring this to the top of the thread again. Come on everyone - show us your Spring images. As I write this, we are having snow flurries AGAIN! LOL

I'm bringing this to the top again - would hate to have this great theme forgotten. There are lots of "signs of spring" now - birds are coming back, wild flowers are starting to pop up, nests are being built and the trails are mucky as heck! LOL
Looking forward to seeing all your photographs showing that Spring has arrived! :)

Beautiful capture Max, like the rendering of the reds, normally they are over saturated by the camera. Looks great here !!!

Second is also beautiful, feel the first has more impact. Not sure if you could stop down more for the second without bringing the background in play. You do great flowers, lovely composition and all with impact Congratulations , al

Thank you Al!
For the second I preferred a black background to ephasize the flower and avoid the ground, the shot is take form top to down.

Thank you again

Hi Michel...
Great shot - love that background! Is that really a robin - I've not seen one look quite like that.
