Hi, 1x team,
I have a question about the "AI usage policy". I understand and agree with the prohibition of using AI to "generate photography'.
My question today is how much you allow us to use "AI capabilities" to tweak the taken photo.
For a long time, Lightroom and Photoshop provided the AI-driven object selection for masking which many people use. This time, Lightroom introduced a new feature with AI that removes an object. Basically, the concept should be similar to the old removable tool that we can remove/heal/copy some portion of the picture to "clean up" the image. The big difference is that it uses generative AI to delete the object by generating an image based on the surroundings.
Could you confirm if we can use this feature without violating the site policy?
Hi Kenichiro,
I am not part of the official 1x team, so my answer is not official:
As long as you edit your own images or image shares with AI support, everything is fine from my point of view.
Replacing a sky is also ok, as long as the replacement sky was not generated by AI but you use a sky you photographed yourself.
When deleting objects or expanding an image with AI, something is copied from your own image - this is also okay.
But I think there will be an official statement from 1x management soon, as the topic of AI is pretty hot at the moment.
Greetings
Udo
Thank you Udo,
That is my understanding too. Let's see how they announce
I see it the same way. I could see a problem if the main subject or a significant part of the photo was generated. Then I would fairly label this as AI generated.
