I would like, if possible, a clarification on the functioning of the "following" section of the "Photos" menu.

 

From what I believed/thought, all the photos posted by the photographers I follow should converge in this section.

I realized, however, that this is not the case, because I have seen photos, in curation, of photographers that I follow (then verified on the profile of the author himself) which are not, however, included in my section "following photos".

So I ask myself: is there anything that escapes me on the functioning of this section? It does not work as I hypothesized above and therefore does not include the photos of all the photographers I followed, but is some kind of filter performed? Or is it just a simple system bug?

 

I will be very grateful for any clarification you want to offer me.

The "following" contains photos by people that you are following, including published and ready to be published (passed the curation).

It does have some issues I guess the "bugs", that some my following people's photos are not included. You are right about this.

The "following" section contains published and ready to be published photos of the people you follow.

It does not contain rejected photos or photos that have not been presented to the curators.

 

Some 5 years ago the system changed. Before that all photos of the people you follow were in this section.

Finally, someone was puzzled by the problem.

 

I wrote about repeatedly.

 

There is a certain trick here: someone decided for us which works should be watched and which not necessarily.

You are offered to see only those works that the curators have chosen.

But you will see them after publication anyway!!!

And those works that are not published? They are good too, but not for you.

This is how they perverted the topic of Followers. Absurd !!!

 

They also updated the Contests. I also wrote about this.

The hugely popular weekly contests in which 700-1000 people took part were transformed into what it is a shame to call a contest.

At the moment 83 people are participating. !!!

 

For all questions that arise, you will receive one standard answer:

"Thank you for the information. We are working around the clock to improve the quality of the site. Wait until autumn. There will be big changes."

 

Wait. Wait. Wait...

The other day one team member wrote to me:

"1x.com is a business."

Yes ! I agree! This is a business, and we ask unpleasant questions and prevent them from doing business.

honestly I never noticed if the photos in the "following" section were somehow piloted. I only realized that I have not seen a couple of photos - among other things by an excellent photographer - which in fact I later found among the published ones.

So it's not exactly the situation that happened to you.

 

On the contest I also find that the current participation is very low, and it is a real shame because they would be an excellent opportunity to see beautiful photos. And even the voting mechanism, perhaps, could somehow be more incentivized.

 

In any case, I wait for the news that has been announced, trusting in the professionalism of the staff.
