In case you missed this or if it is intentional, the voting percentages are missing from curated photos except if you go to the editing screen.

Hello,

good news about removing the popularity percent on curation for everyone at 1x to see.

I think that is a really good move. There is often a lot of focus on the popularity issue, taking focus from the pictures themselves.

What has popularity to do with art anyway?

But it is ok that we can see the popularity percent from the voting private each one of us - can take it as a guideline about what others feel about ones image - or leave it as a guidance.

Great news - hope the change is there to stay !

(By the way, why is this change not informed by the crew on beforehand. In stead now everybody starts to wonder why is there not a populariy percentage anymore ..)

I think, 1x should show the result of our vote.
It's quite normal. I'm wrong?

I'm only seeing my own % if I go to the edit screen for the photo, not on the main information page. I can understand why I can no longer see the % of other votes, although I see no harm. It gives us folks at least a clue as to what is popular and what is not these days. One flaw of showing it to everyone is that some post to both critique and curation at the same time, so I sometimes know who has posted a photo in curation. They should be able to implement this system and show it main info page. Makes it easier to check on how our photos are being received.

it seems that the voting , the most popular and democratic act here, is over.

Would be nice not to have too hunt to see one's voting percentages on a separate edit screen. It should be on the photo page itself, even if you don't, for some strange reason, want us to see someone else's percentages. This is more important to people than ownership seems to realize. Most photos are not published, but when they get a high rating it lets the photographer know they have produced something that interests people. And when something fails to interest anyone.

I consider it an important feature, and it costs management nothing to provide. I respectfully request that it be returned to us, it is quite useful and a factor when one considers to renew or not. I see no benefit in taking this feature away from us.

I'm very sad about this. It's one of the best features of the site for me. Management, please restore it!!

I'm guessing it didn't look good for published photos to have popularity percentages in the 30s...

Yes, but they shouldn't worry about that vote. My highest % votes were all rejected, and the ones that were published had much lower ratings. They have to consider many factors when publishing, including its sale potential. Established photographers will always have an advantage there. It's a mistake to pull the % and hide them.

Yes, I'm figuring that we're all adults here and can handle that information. :)

Hi,

I don't care much for the popularity %, if it's visible or not.
But another thing I noticed is the acceptance ratio that is stuck now.
Its kinda confusing because pictures keep getting rejected or accepted and the accepted ratio stays the same. If it's not gonna be used in the future anymore, maybe its better to completely remove that info?

the more they remove the less interesting this place becomes. (see what happened with the weekly theme )
its not about the photos being published or not . with rare exceptions all photos are fine . its more about desertification,, in the sense that this place is not ours...anymore its their propriety... or better saying.... their oil well.

I personally welcome the decision. In my opinion, the introduction of member voting was not a great idea that really advances 1x in their further development....

I wish they'd bring this back. I feel that I keep losing more and more information here, and why? The more we know about how the site operates, including percentage numbers, the better off we all are.

In the warm weather, I occasionally sell some photos on the street. Probably a verboten for the more established photographers, but the online reaction helps me sort out which are the better ones that might sell. Don't see any valid reason for taking away the percentages from sight and hiding it on the edit page. On another site, we used to get enough views to help us judge quality, even without ratings. We aren't getting that many views here for any photo that is not published.
