Good morning,
this is my second attempt to create the king and father.
I looked for a strong image that underlined all the philosophy of my Olympus.
the Gods exit from the classical iconography and became more human, with virtues, limits, desires.. a nowadays interpretation of the divinities.
i like this one... and you?
have a great light ( and weekend)
regards
Davide
Good morning Davide,
This is a powerful, creative and fascinating portrait of Zeus. Thank you for sharing it with us in the forum. The overlay with the fragmented statue in the background depicts the connection between god and human, yesterday and the present, in a skilful way and adds a surly feel to the facial expression. There is a feeling of brewing anger and mistrust in the human face. I see this as admirable work into which you have put a good deal of thought. If there is a weakness I think it's in the lack of tonal contrast. I imagine that you didn't want the statue to dominate the image, but perhaps darker tones in the human face, especially the eyes, would create a more striking portrait.
All the best, and enjoy your weekend,
Elizabeth
I have the same doubt... in fact the second version was already done
In The first one I see the beginning of the "humanization ", in the second the person has more relevance... I don't know
The last one...
have a nice day
Davide
The differences are very subtle, Davide, but perhaps the second one is the best. In any cases, it's a powerful and creative portrait of a metamorphosis. I didn't mention the dappled light at first, but that does add to the feeling of transformation for me.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth
Yes again, Davide, the stronger tones work better in my opinion.
