Hi, I'm approaching still life, but I'm not yet clear on the concepts that guide this genre of photography. I post a photo that I like, in a low lateral light, but surely something, technically, doesn't work. The low light? The intent is to describe a rustic table with the ingredients for a sauté: garlic, oil and tomatoes. With purely side lights. Is the story it tells too weak? Do I need to strengthen the right side in terms of lighting? Thanks for any advice.
I heve processed with Lightroom and Photoshop.

Hi Massimo,
your still life corresponds to the European art tradition, as it was also cultivated in painting from the 17th century onwards - the design of the motionless objects follows symbolic or aesthetic aspects. In my opinion, however, it is a little too dark. I have therefore brightened it up a little and focused on the tomatoes. In the end, I chose a 16:9 cut, which for me adds a little more tension.
Greetings
Udo
Thanks you very much, I really appreciate.
