This photo was taken with a Nikon D810, Nikon 70-300 zoom (140mm), 1/160 sec, f/11, ISO 100. The photo was taken in RAW format, Adobe RGB color space, camera neutral. In ACR changed to Camera Landscape and increased exposure 0.5 stop. In Photoshop assigned sRGB profile, cropped all edges, corrected lens geometric distortion, used Auto Contrast, increased saturation slightly. Went back to ACR and applied dehaze 10 and clarity 5. Back in Photoshop increased brightness 3 and contrast 4 before resizing to approximately 5000 pixel width and converting to JPG.
As with many of the submissions here, it was panned during curation and I would like suggestions regarding improving it.

Hi Mark Freitag
I would start off then with my thoughts about the image.
What was your reason for keeping such a large dark space in the foreground? Just from looking at your shot I can not see a reason for it. Thus I would change it (and have taken the liberty to crop your shot some).
That way I am feeling way more focused on the colour and what in your shot was the middleground. I kept the dark bit of foreground as I wanted to stay asa true to your original as possible.
Well, at least that is my 5 ct worth..... hope it helps you along.

Hello Mark
Thank you for sharing this dawn photo with us. The light in the middle distance is beautiful, but I agree with Jochen that the dark expanse of foreground is not doing your image any favours. If you don't want to crop it, you can try increasing the light as I have done.
Good light, Elizabeth
Thank you both for your constructive input. I will use some from each of you when I submit that photo.
It turns out I actually submitted the photo I attached to this post. It has a bit better foreground, though that's perhaps still a bit too dark.
