Hello,
I would like to ask you for a feedback on this image. So far I have not done much nudes, but I think it is a great subject and as I found out a demanding and highly artistic one. There is then not much else to say. I do hope that this is already good in your eyes as well, so if not I hope that you will help me grow with your feedback and critique.
I chose the softer lens here on purpose to underscore the softness of the female form and as I think it helps the idea along. Same goes for shooting in black and white. No distraction by colour at all. It is just the body.
Any feedback is welcome.
Ho Jochen welcome to critique. Your image - This is just my thoughts and observations well composed and framed I can see a lot a thought has been put into the location and background well done on your part. The clever discreet pose from your model of beauty works with good taste well done on her part. If I had to pick one thing that could have been done better it would be the lack of light in her eyes and eye sockets. a reflector would have worked wonders. I have had a play with a few things in Photoshop see attached. I used the dodge tool on the model and put the whole image through Portrait Pro.
Hi Jochen,
first of all: I am not an expert on nudes, but I would like to share my feelings about the picture with you. You speak of “no distraction through color”, which is not quite correct, because the colors are merely greatly reduced. I think it's ok with the lips, but the spots of color on the forehead bother me. Otherwise, I think the lady herself is wonderfully photographed, but I don't agree with the background. Apart from the fact that the tall plant is literally screaming for attention, the whole scene looks unnatural. Above all, the light from behind doesn't match the background. I suspect a photo wallpaper in the background. I therefore recommend that you change the background.
Greetings
Udo
Hello, Jochen
Welcome to our forum. I have read through the recommondations of my friends above and I mainly agree with the light and background issues. The model and her stance and looks are great. Yet when I look at the other details and elements apart from the model I think that you applied a great deal of editing on the texture, clarity and shadows. These have helped to improve the softness of the outer edges and light up the scene, however, they also altered the natural look we would expect from the background in these lighting situations. So I would either suggest a better lighted and controlled background or a less softened appearance plus better lighting options. I myself whenshooting portraits take alternative images with the same pose and model but altered lighting and backgrounds. Experimenting usually helps but just eats up time, patience and effort. I wish you good light....Çiçek
