A shot from the events of winter 1989. In the church tower to the right, secret police (Securitate) snipers were hiding, occasionally shooting at the civilians and soldiers on the square. Soldiers couldn't smoke them out, tanks wouldn't blow them out, so we came to a stalemate. This photo shows the moment when a soldier got out of cover and shouted at the bad boys, trying to make them surrender.
