And now the story: Amaras monastery, Karabagh-Nagorny. The Armenian alphabet was invented here 1700 years ago and its first version, carved into stone, can still be seen. This man is the guard of the monastery. He lost a leg in the war, which was very bloody in this region, but still remains one of the most wondrous people I met overthere.
