During the monster west swell at the beginning of December, California was completely lit up with spectacular waves. This photo is dedicated to Peter Davi, who died while surfing Ghost Trees in Carmel, Ca. This empty wave goes out to him.

A beautiful wave and memorial.
Justin Hofman  Thank you David. You have some exceptionally beautiful waves on here. Some of the biggest waves I've ever ridden were caught on that day. I had the typical dilemma of paddling out while the wind and tide were right in the early morning, or posting up with a tripod and wishing I was out there. Sometimes it's torture to bring both a camera and a board to the beach.
