I agree with Stephen. I liked the photo at first glance because of the toning and the compostion, but the lens blur is illogical.
Maybe you should give it a try and apply the lens blur with a reflected gradient mask to produce a feeling of shallow DOF.
Anyway, composition, toning and motif are great.

The idea is good, but I'm afraid I couldn't live with the amount and position of the blur you have applied. Makes me feel as though I have tunnel vision :D
