Angelic Dance

I took the photo of this little angel, dancing, and begging for money, on a short trip to India. Since then, I've learnt how to live for today, hope for tomorrow, and dance without music.

I know this isnt the critique section, but it feels like it should be.

I feel like the odd man out, i dont think this is a very good image and was surprised to see it here, and more surprised to see all the comments.
I dont intend to be mean, I like the idea and the pose of the girl but the motion blur looks bad, not capturing motion but looks like you just needed to bump up the shutter speed a little. also the color looks drab to me, like it could have come right out of a point and shoot with no processing, not even color correction.

I think it would be better if she was looking at the camera as well.

Parham Didehvar Dear Braden! Actually this is a street shot, not a staged one. In Street Photography, you photograph moving subjects, with all the unexpectedness to capture images unstaged. In Street Photography more than other genres it doesn't matter what camera are you using, doesn't matter what are your prefered settings, doesn't matter your lenses, equipment...but it is real important to have the eye. When I'm on the street I can not think of wasting so much time to change the settings of my camera. I prefer to observe, take a moment really important, capture a special light to help me get a certain effect. By the way thank you for taking the time to comment here.

This is an excellent photograph, my congratulations. However, my emotional response to it is different than what I'm seeing from others below, and as suggested by your title and description. My experience in many parts of the world is that children acting in such situations are in a condition of forced child labor, performing/begging day in and day out for money that is turned over to their handler, who, of course can be a family member. All the people of the world do not have the same choices available to them for survival, but just to say when I look at this I do not see only a light and innocent spirit. By no means criticism of the photo. Thank you for sharing it, and I am glad to see it here.
