Sjoe André, jy laat waai! Another excellent portrait, and bw work of the highest level - well done. I lost count of how many great images you have produced from your last trip to South Africa - I do hope that you still have some more to share with us?
Andre du Plessis  LOL. I luckily have a few more files that I have to get sorted. Very happy that some of my images so far have received the OK.

a very powerful portrait. that crevice on the left illustrates the unknown world she may be heading to...
Andre du Plessis  I see it the other way .... heading from that darker aspect into the limelight and on. Thanks for your interpretation, cheers!

Andre. ...Yup...she is a little star - I like her hair do too :) Do you sometimes wish you could be around to see and photograph their children? Children clearly relate to you beautifully. Congratulations. Phyllis
Andre du Plessis  Yes, I am particularly fond of taking pictures of children. Frankly, I can do that all day long, especially in those areas that I visit in SA where there are usually such interesting BG's to be found.

Excellent portrait!!!
Andre du Plessis  Thank you Paul, and the reference above is appreciated, however, not deserved. Things are easier down there, and it is not quite a level playing field, as creating portraits in this informal manner is so much more a daunting task in the developed nations.

So many wonderful portraits recently - an inspiration for us all!
Andre du Plessis  Thank you Susan. This little girl I pictured quite by chance. I had gone to the neighboring town of Knysna to renew my driving licence, and stopped on the way back at Qolweni township to pay a visit to my friend Asher and his family (see the pics of his kids in 'Happy', 'Snack time interrupted' and 'Rita at the Shebeen'. Well, this delightful girl was visiting at their house - the kids were all playing outside, and I took this hurried portrait. I tried to create a 'star' effect with the corrugated iron at the back, trying to portray her as a actress in the light of a daylight stage.

Another stunning shot, Andre :)
So many photos getting published in the last few days - who are you sleeping with? ;)
Andre du Plessis  Now THAT made me actually LOL! No Swedish double decker, unfortunately, but I slept in Africa for 3 weeks over Dec / Jan - a relationship that proved quite fertile:)
