I know a bit Escher's work !!!
from the brain perspective, Escher's work on this staircase is already disturbing but it can be understand because is was a darwing
giving a small attention to his drawing and the buidling beneath the staircase it was more easy to understand his work about perspective

here as you have only the staircase it"s really disturbing
the other thing that is quite disturbing is because it's a photography so it really refers to the real world
