Sheepishly Caught
The sheep was OK - it got itself stuck in the fence while investigating the "greener grass" on the other side.

Colmar, seriously this is fine BW picture. Simple but with good impact.
Excellent!
Colmar Wocke  B&W for me was the correct choice, since the sheep is si light and then stands out so much better - I am pleased that you find it agreeable!

Well - stupid situation. I remember when I was a child I did something similar. And I learned, that the own ears can be a damn obstacle... - The sheep seems to be clever enough not to panic.
Colmar Wocke  Yes - at least the sheep showed some sense. It was all caused by the lure of the "greener grass" - it was a sgreen on his side of the fence!
Thanks for the note and wish you well into 2012.

but the sheep unless she wanted at this branch :)
Colmar Wocke  I think the sheep was after the greener grass otherside the fence - at least it looked greener for the sheep! Thanks for your note!

I remember this image so well from some time ago, and it now looks even better than ever before. Wonderful work Colmar, and I have to add that you really did well in your PP to bring this to us so artfully.
Colmar Wocke  Andre,

Much appreciated, your note! Yes - one from before and I am pleased to read that you see an improvement in my PP skills. I hope to jack this up even more in 2012.

Very nice black and white picture of a sheep. I myself have been through
similar event with a sheep, but it was stuck so hard in the fence so I had to
cut the fence to free the sheep. Beautiful photo.
Colmar Wocke  Thanks so much for the nice words - especially about the B&W treatment. I wish you a light-fillled 2012 up north, with pictures galore. Go well.

The scene as it is story telling. Wonderful to realise and conveyed the "greener grass" story. And I like Your b/w for this. I wish you a wonderful new year Colmar
Colmar Wocke  Christoph,

Thanks so much for your note - glad to read that you enjoyed the narrative. Typical for sheep! Thanks also for your nice wishes for next year and "gleichfalls" to you and Marei. Go well!

A sweet bucolic moment you got here Colmar. The situation of the sheep reminds to that of all of us - once we poke our nose into 1x there is no way out. Although I hope this animal fared better :))) Cheers!
Colmar Wocke  I grew up in sheep-farming country and this little scene typifies sheep for me, but as you say, is sometimes typical of humans too! Thanks for the note and glad to see you frequenting 1X again. Have a good 2012.

Colmar - a difficult moment for the sheep, but it does not look like it is in pain...and I am so so glad it got free.

A few months ago, there were deer in my back yard, and the grandkids saw them, and said...oh take pictures grandma...so I started to but had the wrong lens type on.. When they heard me, they began to leap over the fence. The fence was like this one in your picture but a little higher and ending with barb wire. Well, most of them made it over fine..as I was taking photos with the wrong lens....but one got caught. It landed right on top of the barb wire, and was struggling. It was caught right in the middle of its body. Everyone ran out screaming, and my son- in-law literally lifted it and pulled it off the fence!! It was stunned...but not harmed by the wire, and ran off. I was so relieved. You were lucky this little one out on hits own. :))
Colmar Wocke  Yes, the sheep was OK luckily. Amazing what troubles the attraction, only the attraction, of something better can get you into. Thanks for adding your own story here, Phyllis. Wishing you a light-filled 2012 and go well!
