Capturing emotive pictures of snow is very difficult, I have found. They're either too bright, too grey or without "pop". Your picture is so good - Bravo!

Ralf Greiner You are right Colmar! but I love the snow and the "pure" landscape very much....

Ralf I am surprised given the wonderful textures & shapes the tree offered why you didn't tilt your camera to take more of the tree in to avoid having that blank & featureless piece of snow at the base of the tree? Did you leave it there with a purpose?

Ralf Greiner Dear Gerard,
indeed I tried to get as much as possible of the trees trunk ...because i also loved the wounderful structure and shapes, but one problem was the focal lenght of 28mm and i was sitting on the ground for that picture. the wind was blowing with about 50mph ... so it was a very very quick shot :)
