Gerry...hello....well I see she is making an attempt...at least it shows a desire...a good start. Once a smoker always a smoker..I would say to her - yes and no. Yes the urge will come back repeatedly, but no..some day you may not really want it. Now Gerry offer me any or I might have to take one! Lovely shot of her, and the light is interesting. :) I wish her luck. Congrats to you. Phyllis

This was a piece of instamatic fun well taken with a Canon! but there is no denying the light & there is a bit of humour in the subject matter though Isa has berated me for the unilateral decision to try & to get this published! She is like all of us the mind is willing but the flesh can be weak when persuaded by the unwilling side of our minds! I am in to my third week of stopping I know what I have to do & plan to stick with it. Hope life is treating you as well as can be expected!

gerard sexton  Thanks Andre yeah I know others who read the book felt obliged to quit but soon let their guard down & are back on the stuff. Once a smoker always a smoker! The light was so crisp I just couldn't resist the temptation I was lucky also that there was this little piece of humour in amongst it of course I needed to give some direction but not much!

gerard sexton  Thanks Monica we are both (this is my wife) giving up smoking just that Isa is hooked on this book now...its always the way one addiction makes way for another..Thanks it was not difficult the light was the gift & it was slap bang in front of me it had to be done.
Monica Stuurop  Ah! I've smoked for over 20 years! Stopped because i got pregnant. If it wasen't for my daugther i'd still be smoking! Good luck to your wife :-)

The English language has an amazing pool of one liners and phrases, in politics, literature, comedy, film and music. I suppose it has to do with the fact that a lot of English words have multiple meanings, maybe more than other languages.. But apart from the title this picture is 'hors categorie" .

gerard sexton  ...my tendency to not use punctuation, something that came from working in a large corporate, may have taken the meaning out of my title perhaps an exclamation mark is too unsubtle but an apostrophe after the word light may add clarity.
