The touch of colour in this makes it extra special to me. Love the way the lines from water flowing across the darker section add to the total image.

An incredible architecture's picture - harmony, elegance...and even motion ! Congrats !
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Michel, I very much like that you see motion in the picture - I often work very hard at getting motion into my pictures, and am not always successful. I'm glad it worked here.

Ursula I Abresch  :) It does look a bit like that, doesn't it? It is interesting that this is the backside of the part of the building that houses the Science Fiction Hall of Fame. Thank you for looking and commenting.

Very beautiful. Love the shapes and the light. Is this a sculpture or a building? Maby both :)
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Carola. It is a building, although I guess that building could be called a sculpture too :)

geez Urusula! you gotta stop this, you are making me like the architecture of Frank Gehry. What a fantastic shot! Are those blue/green hues added by you or where actual reflections on the titanium facade?
Ursula I Abresch  Wait a minute, you mean you don't like Gehry architecture in general? Shame on you, Nicolas! :)
Anyway. Thank you. The blue/green is part of the original, but enhanced.
Nicolas Marino  hehe in general, no. But you know, I'm an architect thus I'm very picky. Let me try to sum it up. When he came up with Guggenheim Bilbao, I was in total awe, completely loved it. I've been there and it's a fantastic building and to this day I still believe so. His organic use of titanium is superb. But then, it seems as though he had found a formula and settled with it and started cloning it everywhere. I don't feel he evolved but instead kept repeating himself, so when I see all the clones that came after Bilbao I like them less and less, find them repetitive, boring and ultimately whimsical. These surfaces taken as individual objects are terrific, but when all of them are seen together as the work of an architect i cannot evaluate them in the same way. There are many other things and I could dig deeper in spatial issues, but that'd be very long and boring :)
Ursula I Abresch  Oh, I don't think I'd be bored at all if you went further with your thoughts! But this is probably not the place for it. You know, Nicolas, even from a very "I'm not an architect" point of view (mine, that is), I can well understand what you're saying. I'd been to Seattle a number of times, and totally enjoyed watching this building. But then I visited Chicago and there is a Gehry structure downtown in the Millenium Park, and you're right ... It WAS disappointing because it seemed like a copy, not much else. I still love the building in Seattle (first love?), but I think I would be less "impressed" if I were to see some of the other similar buildings. Thank you so much for writing down your thoughts :)

Wow!Very beautiful!
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, Jeannette. I love this building, and go to look at it every time I make it to Seattle (not too often sadly).
Jeannette Oerlemans  It is a great building! I would like you to have exactly as it whatsoever to return if there is not too far away to live.

Interesting and unusual. Where was it taken?
Ursula I Abresch  In Seattle. It is another picture of the EMP (Experience Music Project), a Gehry building. This is from a different side than the others I've had published of that building. I thought this side looks a bit like a whale, or a spaceship, or a waterfall in metal.

I like this study of metal. As usual shape rules here.
Ursula I Abresch  Thank you, yes, shape rules, combined with the subdued colours in a buildng that usually has rather brilliant colours. It is quite interesting how different metal can look at different times of the day/week/year ....

Great! It looks like a spaceship.
Ursula I Abresch  It does, doesn't it? It is part of the EMP (Experience Music Project) in Seattle, in the USA. The "Science Fiction Hall of Fame" is located in this building, so the "spaceship" look is very appropriate, maybe even intentional. I don't know if it is intentional or not. I thought it also looks a bit like a giant whale, or like a waterfall but made of metal. :)
