Gordon Mckeown Agree Gerard here in australia even with a 400mm lens you,d be struggling too have a close up shot i think i,d need at least an 800mm with tele converter at that plus a high ISO the grounds are so big here

gerard sexton Thanks Gordon took as much luck too...& its easier at an out ground closer to the match so therefore better chance to isolate the keeper in such a way. I only wish I got the ball in this!

Colmar Wocke Oh - I see it was a futile attempt. Nonetheless wonderful action.

gerard sexton Hi Colmar yes it was not a catch just a remarkable effort. This was taken early on in my adventure with cricket photography I was experimenting with trying to get shots of players other than the batsman & bowlers. On this one day I was successful with two images to show for the experiment one of a catch at cover point & this. Unfortunately the catch was of the guys back & although off the ground ball visible it remains in the archive its slightly soft too as conditions were very tricky on this day. Thanks for your continued support.
