Great catch with your heavy gear, Gerard ! ;-))

regards

Henrik
gerard sexton  Henrik it is heavy but it keeps me fit carrying to the matches to think when I first started shooting rugby I was hand holding that thing!

Great capture Gerard! If you covered the India tour to England last month, I am sure you would have got a lot of these moments :) The English bowlers had a 'field' day !!
Supershot!
gerard sexton  Suresh only got to see the ODIs at the Oval & Lords & the two tests at the same location sadly not much action came my way! but it was great to see the likes of ST & the Wall Thanks for your support.

The expression make this picture alive, excellent Gerry !
gerard sexton  For sure Ricky being honest its frustrating that as photographers we have to wait for many things to come at once to get this type of shot & then if the lights wrong or someones in the way well you wait again..and again...The great thing is that thats the challenge I am still learning one day I will have cracked it! Thanks.

A very good image, Gerry, really perfectly captured! Wonderful work! Congrats!
gerard sexton  Hi Codrin it was great day for me as the team I am shooting most often & one that I have become attached to got promoted to the DIV I. Very talented young players who again won a trophy on saturday. Its easy to sit on the boundary & wait for these shots the hardest part is concentrating for the 6 or so hours each of the 4-5 days that play takes place its a personal challenge that I relish but then the players have to do this too! Thanks & I hope you are well.

Excellent one Gerry..he looks like he is doing a ballet dance...you have caught him with a intense expression. :) Congratulations. Phyllis..ps. did he go down?
gerard sexton  Phyllis hi you are so right I imagine that whiplash is a cause for concern these balls go fast & are so hard. No he remained upright though wasn't around much longer this guy is not a recognised batsman & the bowler is trying to soften him up! AS I have said before cricket may seem dull & boring to those that don't understand it but it is certainly not for the feint hearted thats for sure. Thanks & I hope that you are keeping well.
Phyllis Clarke  Bill just came and saw the picture and said...Now they have helmets, wish they had them when I was a kid! :) Wow..now that would be terrible to get hit with that ball. They have just passed new regulations here for football, that helps to stop the players from stomping on the head of another player once they are down. I think you have done a remarkable job here learning a new type of photography...Your shots never make it look boring. Best..to you. Phyl

I don't know anything about cricket, but I like your picture, really an excellent shot !
gerard sexton  Herve much appreciated it appears complicated but the principals are simple score as many runs as possible & bowl the others out cheaply...well then it gets complicated the state of the wicket which type of bowlers you use fast or slow & the weather plays a part but like many sports its all in the mind! Thank you.

JBW?

Jaw before wicket?
Great sport action shot...
gerard sexton  William Shane Warne a notable Aussie cricket player used the phrase "chin music" I think because you need to be a good dancer to avoid these high pitched balls that are aimed at the body! Thanks for your words.
