With thanks to some very talented and generous 1xers who gave me their thoughts and feedback through my editing process.

Great shot, I noticed that his face is really hard to forget in a short time.
Kim Ayres  The moment I first saw him, I knew I wanted to take his photo. Fortunately he's much friendlier than he looks :)

Intensity!
Kim Ayres  I've always preferred "intense" to "wistful" in portraits :)

The real punk !!! He reminds me the first time I've been to London and I though it was an anachronistic way to be just egocentric. Then, when I lived there for years, I realized that it was much more than that...it was a subculture wich rapprsented the "new protest" and rebellion of young people against the bourgeoisie and the stereotypes.
Kim, I like this picture very much, in it I see not just this, but the maturity of that rebellion. J.
Kim Ayres  Even for those of us who never went as far as outrageous haircuts or multiple piercings, I think the punk movement had a profound effect on many of us. Certainly that sense of individualism and of doing it your own way rather than following the crowd has been something with me ever since :)

So serious! I'd love to see what he looks like when he smiles! :) Enjoyed reading what you said about "Faces" on your page. Thankful for photographers like you who take pictures of faces because I can get up close and study to my hearts content without freaking people out by doing it in person. ;)
Kim Ayres  When he smiles, you can't help but smile with him :)
I love looking at faces, but as you say, it tends to freak people out a bit, so portrait photography is a way of doing it legitimately :)

Unconventional use of reflection and lighting... Although contemporary, the picture seems to hold a somehow timeless feature! Congratulations Kim for the very successful portrait!

Excellent "own juxtatposition" here Kim - one gets the "full picture", as it were. Congratulations!
Kim Ayres  Thank you for your warm words, Colmar :)
The orginal photo shows the mirror frame and I toyed for a while about keeping it in, but when I removed it, I thought it looked a bit like there were 2 people rather than just one, and I quite liked that ambiguity.

I am so glad to see it published Kim. A powerful portrait, representing so much for our generation.
So warm congrats Kim
Christoph
Kim Ayres  I remember back in the 80s there was a TV film called Max Headroom, set in a dystopian future, and it had a character in it who was an old punk, with a mohawk, and it looked so odd, because in those days you only saw them on young people. Of course the punk generation is now in it's 40s and 50s.

Thank you once again for your time and input, Christoph - it is greatly appreciated :)

Kim, A striking portrait in b/w. HIs eyes and the eyes are the t-shirt make quite a pair. You have captured his character exceptionally well. Bravo. Congratulations on a great shot. My best, Phyl

it looks so damn good here Kim! What a truly great portrait and subject!
Kim Ayres  Thanks Nico, and for your time and input - it is greatly appreciated :)
Nicolas Marino  i needed to add that i like it very much and it has an impact on me because it somehow represents my most rebel years as a teenager. I never had such cool hair because my parents would've never allowed it but I was close and inside, very close too :)
Kim Ayres  So, what's stopping you now then? You've left home! ;)

not good!!!! - - -
Kim Ayres  Vahid - what am I to make of your comment? You tell me you do not like it, but I do not know why. Is it that you don't like the subject, or the composition, or the post processing, or me? How am I to know. And why should I care?
