Another beautiful work, such smooth HDR process with nice natural light and colors showing through, everything I like! ;) I was wondering, did you have these lights of ray naturally with the presence of dust or did you have to enhance / recreate them on Photoshop ? In any case, kudos for this new fantastic image...
Sven Fennema  Thank you very much Brice! It's that smooth casue it's actually no HDR process but exposure blending by hand - It was really there, but not that strong, so I accentuated it a bit more
Brice Challamel  Yes, I do the same. I used to do HDR long before softwares actually, using smoked glycerin and carboard on multiple exposures in my dad's lab! ;) So I tend to use 90% exposure blending with digital pen and 10% Photomatix (sometimes it does come in handy...). I thought you had the same type of process and really admired how smoothly you manage to achieve it, all the more for doing it myself all these years... Kudos for your wonderful work :)

Fabulous, as usual. Do you every worry about falling through the floor?
Sven Fennema  Many thanks for your words! Of course I do, that is what always should be present in your mind - That you never have a warranty to be safe. But of course I take care very well and triple check where I go. I usually don't go alone to have someone nearby is important. And I also turned around already because I was not sure.
It was indeed heavy because once I visitied a big inustrial site, I knew the amazing motifs would be in the 4th floor and even higher. But on first floor I really had bad feelings about the state so I decided to turn around and was angry. One week later I received the news that another (experienced) guy was in that 4th floor and felt through the ground, 8 meters deep - Gladly he is alive after many broken bones and loss of teeth but I can tell you, this made me be even more careful !
King Douglas  Wow...stay safe, my friend.

Sven, I love it. You are such a great artist. Empty places on your photos are endlessly meaningful. They offer so many stories and contemplations about resistance in time and are like an historical statements. They show as wide range of spaces, from very intimate to institutional. To cut the long story short. For me you are one of the greatest photographer-artist-historian-thinker. My deepest compliments.
Sven Fennema  Many thanks for those very kind words Peter! I'm so glad to read this and it makes me happy and also proud if what I put into my works really reaches the viewers! I highly appreciate!

Sven ,that is another fine decay as all of yours too.
I like it and like its colors ,I guess those colors are your direct result ,I do view decays a lot but seldom noticed any prominent colors in them, the effect of time and the dust is that great barrier between my eyes and any colors,it seems to me that your great work is to lift the time effect from any decay you have captured ,and that is your very fine job.
you have done the impossible ,Easing The Death.
Sven Fennema  Thank you so much Al for those words, colors are very important to me, they can tell so much.
I usually take 3-5 exposures of such a place which I manuallly merge in drawing them together. This makes it possible for me to handle the lights, but also the different exposure show me the full spectrum of colors such a place has. While that processing I have something in my mind, a mood, a story and that's what leads me to how it will look.
I'm always very happy to see that what I put into my works really gets to my viewers
