Very rarely, when the lowest of tides falls at sunset on just the right week or two each year when the sun sets at the end of this enormous sea cave on the Oregon coast can one witness this event of light and wonder, as huge waves rip down the 20 meter wide tunnel and explode onto the shore at your feet, illuminated in the glow from the mist in the opening beyond. I was very lucky to have been here on one such evening, a few years ago.
