This image was taken in 2005. At that time I had discovered the night photography and I spent all my time looking for new locations that could be interesting. Near my house is the old landing that served during the last century to carry iron ore on ships that transported to smelters.
This small pebble beach next to the landing, turned to me in a regular place in which to wait for the moon light.

just a quick question, how dark was it out at night.. it must have been fairly dark if u managed 741s, or did use a diffuser
?
Fernando Sanchoyarto  Hi, David. I used a ND filter of 3 stops in the top part of the image. The image was taken at 21:22 in october, and despite the fact that the presence of the moon brings plenty of light some clouds appeared in the sky and I increased the exposure time to 714 seconds.
David Keller  thank you, love this picture so much :)

Great picture!
If I may ask, how did you get such good color sharpness in the picture - is it because of the ND filters or a high end camera (Canon eos m II?) Thanks.
Fernando Sanchoyarto  Thanks Abhimanyu, I used a ND filter of 3 stops to reduce the amount of light that brought me the moon in the top part of the image. The camera was a simple Canon EOS 20D, not as good as my current Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III but in the end what counts for a photographer is the way it has to look at things. The image has been edited with Lightroom and only has global settings of illumination and contrast.
Abhimanyu Julaniya  Thanks a lot for your reply Fernando. One small question, did you use a graduated ND or a standard ND?
Fernando Sanchoyarto  Sorry, I expressed badly, the filter was a graduated ND, in particular a Singh Ray, Galen Rowell, 3 f-stop hard step. Thanks for your comment. If you have any more questions you can ask me here or send me an e-mail. I will answer with pleasure.
