Thanks for all your comments, faves and e-mails I've received. Always nice to chat with passionate photographers about our common interest in the untamed nature.

Some of you have questions regarding safety of the photographer, and distance from the blasting lava. I'm not sure about the distance, maybe 25 meters at this point. We didn't get toasted on this trip, so I guess we were playing safe, or just plain lucky. While hiking an erupting volcano, you really don't have a clue what danger you're going fo face.

This is tremendous. We through around adjectives much too liberally sometimes, but this really deserves it. I can't recall ever seeing a more powerful image of another photographer. Truly, this is as good as it gets!
