And this without a montage: incredible well done, Dave:-)
Dave Nitsche  Hey Ben thanks... it's amazing what you can do with a dremel tool and a lot of cursing. hahahaha.

Creative- as always:)
Is this for real or edit in PS?
Had a lot of ideas with a bulb, but was afraid of the content of lead, and mercury !
Maybe there are light bulbs that do not include this?
Love your work - you are a real inspirator :)
Dave Nitsche  Hey Heidi, all real. I dremeled two slots in the bulb and shoved the knife through. I connected a metal rod to the hilt of the blade and put it through a hole in the background so it looks like it's floating.

Yeah, lead and mercury is a concern but for the limited amount of use I do with bulbs I don't worry about it too much. I probably should. :D

Thanks so much for the compliments. This one didn't go over too well here and it's one of my faves. Go figure. LOL!!!
Heidi Westum  Thanks - nice to hear :)

One half of a great idea -- the sharp real hardness of a killing tool. A light bulb is merely technology, and old tech at that. Only in an old cliche does it exist as a stand-in for inspiration.
Dave Nitsche  Yeah, maybe a bit of a cliche. :D Thanks for your thoughts.
Jerry Bruck  My original reaction reads pretty rudely, now that I look at it again. I didn't intend it in that spirit.
Dave Nitsche  Hey Jerry its all good. I didn't take it as rude. Sometimes I do venture into the cliche world. It's all good man. :D

Nice concept and idea, not quite fond of the execution (mind the pun) or the background.
Dave Nitsche  Glad you like the idea and I do like the pun. :D
Fadi Tarawneh  Dave did you try another color for background? it does feel like white is the right way to go, but with the white bulb it feels a bit odd...(not critique, just trying to understand).

Imaginative work.
Dave Nitsche  Thanks Paul

fantastic! really like your works!

and I WONDER how did pierced the glass, without smashing it?
Dave Nitsche  Hey Osher... I use a diamond studded wheel on a dremel. If you keep the glass under a stream of water while you gently cut it no heat builds up and it goes ok most of the time. I think I did destroy one bulb doing it. There is a crack on the backside of this bulb but of course you can't see it.

Thanks
Osher Partovi  thank you for explaining, much appriciat it!

execellent work..
