We saw a man and his dog exactly like him at traffic light in Redmond Oregon. He was giving his fast food to his dog. It was so touching. I wanted to stop and give him money. I still think of him and his dog.

Matt,
I see nothing about this guy that indicates he couldn't be a homeless guy.
His clothes certainly aren't expensive, including that cap and bandana. Seeing how he is preferring a bottle of coke over some booze, he probably isn't an alcoholic. That means his daily income (homeless people in Germany get a few Euro every day from the government) would be enough to get those items.

Anyways - great photo. Wonder how it was taken - doesn't look like a posed shot, was consent given afterwards?

I hate to break it to everyone, but this man is almost certainly not homeless. He's wearing rather nice clothes and and what look like new shoes for one. His hat indicates that he is a supporter of FC Koln and even has enough spending money to get his dog a matching bandana. I suppose it remains possible that he is indeed homeless, but I think it's more likely that he's waiting to watch a soccer game.

Sorry, I'm just gonna run home and hug my dogs! I live in Ottawa, Canada where there are homeless people with pets and some of them have nothing in their bags but dog treats/sweaters(it is Canada!!!) /toys for their dog. Living on the street doesn't stop you from loving...

This man and his dog...., the love, the friendship..., the companion.... whatever he has lost, he care for his friend. I see a bottle of water, a little bag with dogfood -all for his friend....

You have captured the love between them on camera. You can see many scenes just like this in San Diego...and many other cities I am sure. It is heart warming, even if they don't have much, they probably have so much more than many. Thank you for the photo :)

congratulations to this extraordinary picture,
I must say that was the best pictures I've seen in recent times, I got tears in my eyes.
do not know if the person is homeless, but if so, can be poor monetarily, but the spirit is a rich person with a huge heart .
whenever I see the unconditional love of animals by people I am very happy, they deserve, because they do not judge us, they do not doubt, do not look at whether we are rich or poor, they just want our dedication and love above all ..
There is a phrase that I say a lot:
"The more I know people , more I like the animals"
Thank you for having portrayed is extraordinary display of affection by men of animals and animal by man.
