i'd have to agree that tony's right on about with Bresson; although it's a bit (Luc) Besson as well, if you don't mind me getting cinematic :)

excellent shot; great tonality -- and great timing on your part. love it.

This reminds me of Bresson. George Krause has a great image that echos the mood, as well. Good eye.

Hello Andre, This is exactly what I would like to say, though don't know how. It resonates with something in me almost to a tiniest detail, it is difficult to say exactly with what, maybe it is only a coincidence. It is not easy for me to find a photo which I 'truly' like, I like this photo of yours very much, a sort of 'masterpiece' in my eyes. Thanks for sharing it with us. Kind regards, Robert. P.S. I do apologize for the fact that I can't say anything more concrete about it, maybe later.
Andre du Plessis  Dear Robert. I know that you are very particular about what you like - you have expressed this quite often in comments and forums. So getting the nod from you here is very pleasing. Very pleasing indeed. Thanks, and regards, Andre

Excellent, one of the best images at the Tate I have seen. Lovely tones with spot on lighting. Has this guys mind wandered to the person he is talking to on the phone as his eues watche the woman pass by. One of my favorite places in London.

Regards Richard
Andre du Plessis  Indeed a great space to try and find a capture, and they are so camera friendly as well. Actually went there to try and find 'people in front of installations' pictures, but were quite late and rushed, so never made it past the large entrance space. Regards to you, Andre

PS I posted your shot to my profile on Facebook...so my family could see it. :) I don't even know if you re on Facebook..I use it to play..games that is...In the family tradition I joined Mafia Wars..dont worry your photo will appear ourside of MW. :)
Andre du Plessis  Mafia Wars...you have mentioned this often. Maybe i should have a look at this game. Sound just about more addictive than 1X. Is that possible?
Phyllis Clarke  Simply said. YES. Never in a million years would I imagine myself playing this game..and yet there I am. It has started to wear off though...Alex O...I understand played at one point and got free. I will have to ascertain from him the methods he used. :)

Andre..Although this is 2010 this scene looks like something out of a Film Noir period in terms of the b/w rendition/light and shadows. Minimalism at its best. Bravo..my best, Phyllis
Andre du Plessis  The mild toning took particularly well and easy to this scene, and I have found that measured 'against the light' tones the best (for me anyhow). Thanks for the comment Phyllis.

yes you have managed to capture it little, but I could see there is a connection to the biggest world ever in his left hand,
a great mood and very fine image.
Andre du Plessis  I think that you are right - he is having his little/big conversation. I watched him through the lens while this rather attractive girl passed by, but his eyes did not do the expected thing, and that assisted me in my title search. He appeared so locked away in his conversation. Thanks Al.

Terrific capture Andre
Andre du Plessis  Thanks Adrian!.... and what a game that was today!
(assuming that you follow Rugby as most Aussies do)
Adrian Donoghue  Yes I do take an interest, although rugby is not as big in the southern states, Australia Rules football being the major code, nonetheless, go Wallabies!

Lovely, really lovely.

The space the tones the reflections and shades....
Andre du Plessis  Many thanks Willem, and for once I had to do so little editing, other than a conversion, slight adjustments in the shadows, and toning. This scene basically only needed the click of a shutter.
