wonderful work!! it is two shots merged together right? as the circle needs long exposure and and firespit needed fast shutter speed!

All of your firework images are amazing Thoum, and this one is no exception to that.
A real fantastic joy to look at your superb creations.
I also want to bring my sincere compliments to those guys spitting the fire.

Best regards and have a great weekend,

Harry
Thoum  Yeah, i take all the credit for those images, but i couldn't do those shots without firebreathers like him.
Few are the guys that can do a flame that huge and understand what i'm planning to do when i'm running all over the place :)

que la creation de l'image finale
superbe boulot

Thoum  Merci :)
j'ai l'habitude de la couleur du feu, c'est ma lumière de prédilection. Ici c'est plus le montage qui a demandé du boulot !

Absolutely incredible.... Love the choice of location... and the Ohm sign on the left pillar..... absolutely incredible idea and execution !!!!
Thoum  Thanks !
I know this forgotten blockhaus for a long time and imagined that shot a long time ago. In such a place, it's cheating to do nice images ^^

Wow, this is soooo cool ... perfect timing, very very well done!
Thoum  Timing is a really relative concept in this photo. Different shots with different exposure times ^^
jbfotodesign  Yes, I saw down below in your comment ... but I believe theoretically it's possible to do this in one shot, but that requires great timing ... what do you think?
Thoum  Strictly theoretically, yes. Firebreathing shot is taken in less than 1/500, and the ring is taken in more than 1 second. So unless you have super skills to cover your lens really fast and precisely, arrange the scene twice etc... plus iso and aperture are not the same in the two shots...
It would be just for the awfull challenge to try this in one shot, and i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be this clean :)
I think that technique of covering your lens to put some different lights and different effects in a photo is pretty amusing but inefficient, now that we have so simple possiblities to merge several shots. (you just need to add your images one on the other and screen your layers in photoshop, it's exactly the same)
jbfotodesign  Fully agreed, I think the way you used to get this result is very efficient indeed ... btw, don't know whether or not you you read the forum, your work was includes in this feature here:

This had to be a nightmare to execute but it is AWESOME!
Thoum  With a little bit of luck, an excellent firebreather and some time on the computer, it's not so hard !
You just have to be organised during the shooting :)
Gordito73  Hats off before your organizational skills then :) Thank you for sharing such a shot!

that's f****g amazing! Did you use any fill flash here? I was trying to do something similar yesterday but we didn't have such a strong fire.
Thoum  No flash, i just used the natural fire light, but took and merged several shots with different light settings to get an homogeneous light in all the scene.
WOW..WOW
