Wow, what an image! Stairs into the heaven. Wow! There are many things to praise but I want to stress out two, your vision and color. I assume it is a composition of two images, one of the reflection of the boy, and another of the same landscape without him. I wonder how you have come to that idea. Was it on the spot, or did you return to the place later? I believe images like this deserve a story, and I hope you give some comments.

Another thing I want to praise is your use of color. I am so, so happy that you did not turn it black and white! I really like those gentle touches? of color. I looked through your website, and discovered the album, selective desaturation. I really liked it. Following your photos, I also lied your use of grain, and in general, your approach to photography as art, not high tech equipment potential demonstration, that is so prevalent on 1x.com

I wish there were more images like yours here
Paul Bartholomew  What a lovely comment - thanks so much. This is actually quite a simple image with just a little trickery and a very limited colour edit.

It is not a composite, but this image of my son walking across the stepping stones of a ford has been cropped, turned upside down before I cloned his actual (not reflected) feet away, using adjacent stones as the source. For the colour I used Nik Software's Color Efex Pro Duplex filter with default coloration and then removed it from all but the white areas to accentuate the golden glow.

A bit of global sharpening after resizing and that was it.

I'm really glad you like it and that you took the time to look at the images in my non-published space.

Thanks again

Paul
