hello! this picture is beautiful! How did you take it? because it's two years that i go to methony and the castle is always closed. Thank you bye
konstantinos  This shot was taken last December. The castle was supposed to be closed but the gate was open so we went in either way. Spent two hours on the site taking pictures and then discovered that the keeper has locked us inside the castle with no way getting out. It was a funny story

I'm a big fan of Stephen King (although I know he was not the one that inspired the title) and I'm an even bigger admirer of your work. :)
konstantinos  Nah it was more like LOTR inspired :D

Congratulations, wonderful photograph! So glad you chose to publish this one here, it has a hazy atmosphere almost unreal which I find very inspiring. The perfect setting for our dreams to unfold... :dreamingalready:
konstantinos  Thanks Charlie!

I have mixed feelings about this shot. It is interesting although very static, the fortress is right in the middle. the mountains in the back are unnecessary sharp. Those are preferences, you may like it different way. My major problem is with what I guess to be water, not fog. If it is fog, I take my comments back. But if it is water, I question the results. We all do editing using particular equipment and settings, some prefer to edit in photoshop. The extent of editing that allows a photo to remain a photo is not a simple question, my feeling is that this picture has crossed the boundary.
Charlie Mac Bell  My belief is that your comment has crossed the boundary. This is a very skilled long exposure photograph obviously taken right after sunset, when lighting conditions change very rapidly. Few photographers have the eye and the talent to execute this type of shot so perfectly. Show respect.
konstantinos  I take it you are unfamiliar with the term "long exposure"

there is no heavy editing in this shot. the water appears like that because of the waves, nothing more nothing less. It crossed no boundaries and I am sure that if it did they would have been picked up at the screening process

here is a video of the place at the day this shot was taken, it might help you clear a few things in your head.

naive-buyer  long exposure and very short exposure change things from how we see it naturally with our eyes. it is applicable to water, night shots of moving cars, movement, etc. Exposure is one of the tools photographers use, and it is an editing tool. in your case, it turned moving salt water into fog without evaporation. if this is not editing than it is magic. A fortress in the fog is beautiful, and it is a great image. I question that it is a photograph, I acknowledge that opinions may differ but I believe i have a right to see things as I see them.
konstantinos  clearly we have different ideas as to what editing and in-camera work is. I see serious flaws in your thinking, since you question if it is photograph what the eye can't perceive then what about b/w photographs captured in film? Anyway it is a rhetorical question I fully respect your opinion even though I obviously disagree
