I do not know if other users of 1x.com share my position but I feel that very many pictures on the site would benefit from cropping. The reviewers however, seem to like what I perceive to be unnecessary details. I feel that this photo would benefit if it is cut by around the edge of the table on the right, some from the top, and depth of the field would be reduced (another thing that I feel 1x.com likes excessive sharpness).

I thought fist that it was a picture of a person proofreading a first print of the newspaper, and therefore the right part was not cut. But the title is different. For me, 'concentration' implies cropping.
WK Chew  For environmental portrait, the little details around the subject are critical. It explains what and why the subject is there. Without those details, the story is not complete.
Uzay  Interesting comment and i respect but for me these "unnecessary details" are very important. They show me the environment and concentration of the man in such a mess. Sometimes we'd like to see a photo due to our imaginations but i prefer what the photog wants to show. Cropping wouldn't work me in this case.
