Hello Rui:

Pardon for my English.

I have surprised, although perhaps I should be ashamed of it, which the image is achieved by analogical means, in the world that we move ourselves of the current photography it is of praising that someone even uses the Asa and us the Iso.

The photography is very good, with a very well compound rural scene, I like very much the position of the hound one with the distant look and desenfocada from the goats to the fund.

Perhaps, only perhaps the targets have some overexposed zone.

greeting Rui.

Hola Rui:

Rui Pires  Hola Paco. All my photos published in 1X are in film with Asa except two in colour i have publishd at some time ago. About over-exposure of white ares, sometimes when we need to catch a decisive moment we have no time to chose the best POV in order to avoid some high lighted areas like pure whites in walls and subjects, also impossible to made a good exposure if we take that areas in consideration or we ruin the good exposure for the rest of photo. Where you see over-exposed white, is exactly pure whites in that place, much EV´s over the other areas of photo. Every film with high dinamic amplitude can´t do "miracles" :) Thanks for nice coment :)

Life is really a rush out there in the hills it seems:) Good one Rui!
Rui Pires  It´s a great life, only goats can bother you :)
In this day, one of them eats one box of my roll film grrr
All the best, my friend ! :)
Andre du Plessis  Well - I have my own story on that. My dad was a Veterinary surgeon, and as a school child I always travelled with him when he wentb out to treat large animals on farms. This particular time we attended to some ill-feeling elephants at the well-known Addo Elephant Park, and one this occassion one big daddy elephant swallowed 80 vials of deltacortril (glass vials filled with steroid) when we turned our backs. The result....I managed to get 3 days off school. I was hosted in the lodge, but had to walk behind the elephant all the time digging and exploring it's dung to retrieve what I can. I cannot quite remenber, but when my dad came to fetch me 3 days later I had most of his bottles back. slightly faded labels, of course, and a bit smelly, but still workable.
Was just thinkimg - goats have quite a good stomach, so the film that they swallowe probably came out quite overdeveloped, eh?
Rui Pires  Yes, to much time in "processor" :)
Well, is unexposed film. If it´s exposed, mybe i do same you do with the elefant, and i have masterpieces full of "mood" :)))
Eii, what happens to that elefant if all steroid valves broke inside him ?? You will get a brontosaurus for shure :)))
all the best, my friend, and thanks for share that story :)
Andre du Plessis  I do not know about the brontosaurus possibility, but I do that this elephant would have had 5 legs the following day, of which the middle leg would have been the longest and strongest, and all the lady elephants would have been running away all over the hills towards Uitenhage (the next town), with just the dust telling - or maybe the opposite, and they could have been qeueying outside the gate, all waiting to have tea and pleasantries with mr super-elephant. I like this possibility more.

Love, love, love this, Rui!!
I must tell you that I have my own goats, and every time I see yours, I smile from ear to ear. :)
Your work is brilliant, and I always look forward to your next creation.

Mandy
Rui Pires  Do you have goats, Mandy ? :)
I can´t have any, my mom says ower garden will look like Sahara desert in one week :))
Thank you !
Mandy Schoch  So funny, Rui :) Yes I do indeed. I had 4 goats until about 3 weeks ago-- now I have 8! Four brand new bouncing babies that my camera and I probably spend much too much time with these days. Goats are truly wonderful animals.

Your mom is absolutely correct. And I laugh that you said that because just yesterday I took a large bag of broccoli stems, carrot peelings, and lettuce to them as a gift-- and every one of them tried a bit and then spit it out. But I guarantee if I let them loose in a vegetable garden full of broccoli, carrots and lettuce, they would clear it in minutes! Now that I have goats, I completely understand where the words capricious and caprichoso come from. :))

Very funny image made even funnier when you know how fast that Basenji could really run if it wasn't enjoying making the goats wait. Wonderfully captured too.
Rui Pires  Thank you Brent. Never heard this dog is a "Basenji". Here in Portugal we call "rafeiro" :)
Brent Smith  Hmm, maybe I have the breed wrong Rui? It sure looks like what at least the States and UK would call a Basenji or "African Barkless Dog". If it is the same dog just with a different name in Portugal you would know by the fact that it can't bark but makes a strange yodeling sound instead. Wonderful captured moment- whatever the breed :-)

Hah, a dog practicing "The Dog" (a typical Yoga position, called after what the dog is showing here) :-)
Rui Pires  Eh eh. Not youga, i tell you the sotry of this moment. As usual the dog is sleeping in that "street", it´s near end of afternon. Then the goats start to cameback from mountais and when goats see the dog they stop exactly where you see them in photo, start to screaming "meeeeeehhhh", the dog wake-up and ... get out of the path of the goats, or that big goat with large horns take care of dog :)
Is not a sheperd dog, is only a pet.
