Incredible. A wonderful pose you have captured there.

However, I would have preferred to see at least a hint of texture of the snow in the background. Now it looks unnaturaly clean, like the background could have been painted solid white in PP.

I consciously increased the contrast and cleaned the background to make the snow totally white without any details, to draw all the attention to what matters most to me: this beautiful fox.
I can understand you prefer a natural look, but for me this bit of editing did more justice to the subject.

This is such a wonderful image! So sharp and clear, the expression of the fox is so captivating!

Why did you file it as a creative edit?

Actually I was quite surprised to see it categorised under 'creative edit'
I don't remember submitting it there so probably the crew considered it creative...?
I would have preferred it to be placed in 'nature' since it's a real photo.
Of course I did some post processing (I lightened up the background and cloned some disturbing elements out), but nothing I would consider to be 'creative' ;)

Pocket Universe According to the site's guidelines your alterations are considered normal post processing, it doesn't make it a creative edit. We'll just have to consider the categorization as a fluke of the tech-gods =)

Dank voor je compliment.
Ik droomde er al een tijdje van een vos te ontmoeten en dan het liefst in een mooi sneeuwlandschap, maar aangezien zowel vossen als sneeuw hier geen daily routine zijn leek me dit 'quite a challenge'...
Toen er ineens uit het niets een vos opdook was ik dan ook zo verrast dat ik bijna vergat het knopje in te drukken :D

Ik zie dat de foto inderdaad onder 'Creative Edit' geplaatst is (bij mijn weten heb ik hem in Nature gepost) en dat vind ik wel een beetje jammer.
Het is gewoon een foto, die -zoals bijna elke foto- nog wat bijgewerkt is.
Weliswaar iets uitgebreider dan ik meestal doe, maar behalve de usual stuff is alleen de achtergrond opgelicht en heb ik wat storende sprietjes en donkerder plekjes weggehaald.
Ik zou dus ook liever hebben dat hij gezien wordt als foto. :D
Maar leuk te lezen dat je 'm mooi vindt.

Roeselien Raimond Tnx for the compliment. Since snow isn't the most common thing in the Netherlands, I wasn't used to taking photographs of animals in a complete white environment and I found out this is quite a challenge....:D
