I love Gehry and this is totally dizzying ... I'm lost in space, don't know what is up or down. Superb photo!
prolixpics  Thank you Frank. I am a fan of the Gehry photograph that you just posted in Critique!
Frank Waechter  :o))) ... I know your contribution ... you even know that screening has got its own rules - I've got some others from this series, maybe I upload them later (but they might not be real 1x.com-style).

what a strange place!
what is it?
prolixpics  Hi Monique,

The photograph was taken inside of a very artistic building that is under construction. Since the building has so many twists and curves, the contractors use individually cut sheets of steel to form the interior surfaces. I was lucky to be in the building at this time. Very soon, the contractors will be putting up walls (hanging sheetrock) over the sheetmetal and the struts will not be visible to the eye.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a note.
Monique  looks that you were really lucky.
Thanks for reply.

This one is really good Kirk. Great dynamic here.
Good job.
prolixpics  Thank you. It appears that we both are fans of Frank Gehry. I enjoyed your photograph of the STATA center. For this shot, I was lucky enough to shoot from the inside out during construction.
jacques philippe  Indeed Frank Gehry is popular here on 1X!
BTW where did you do that shot ?
prolixpics  Hi Jacques,

I took this shot at the Ruvo Brain Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ruvo Institute was established to treat and perform research on brain-related dysfunction and illness. They are very committed to exploring the treatment and management of Alzheimer's disease.

The building is currently under construction. I received an invitation to visit the site and take some shots.

I took this shot on the interior of the building. The camera was pointed towards the ceiling. Due to the shape of the building, the ceiling is pretty complicated. The struts that you see are pieces of sheet metal. These struts form the ribs upon which the contractors will hang the walls. I was fortunate to be in the building at this time because all this metal will disappear - hidden forever - once the walls and ceilings are hung.

I took this shot in the morning. There were so many windows, the interior was filled with a very bright white light. The reflective surfaces added to the overall brightness.

Thanks for your interest.

Nice shot shot and scene, but is a but too crowded for my taste...congrats.
prolixpics  There's definitely a lot going on in this image and I respect your perspective. Frankly, I had some of my own concerns but decided to "go for it." I appreciate that you took the time to write me a note and look forward to seeing more of your work.

What a place! I guess my brain is kind of like that, too :)
prolixpics  Yes. I'm struck by the notion that this is the home of an institute that treats brain dysfunction.
Lev Tsimring  oh so it is Frank Gehry? I should have guessed it, but on the other hand I've never seen his unfinished work, I am used to smooth metal manifolds. great capture, again ...neighbor! :)
