another great shot :)

i'm just curious, do you shoot with both D700 and 5DmkII or you exchange one for the other?
Andre du Plessis  Hi Nicolas. :)...I was waiting for that. No - the D700 I bought in London for my brother (Nikon SA's prices are silly), but he let me use it during my 2 weeks I was there recently. So now I am back to the Canon. I am totally blown away by the low light / pushed ISO ability of the D700.

An interesting moment stopped in the time of your lens! :) They are beckoning you, the gods, and use their audience. :) Impressive shot. My best, Phyllis
Andre du Plessis  I know that I should refrain from mentioning details about scenes that represent political programs, however, these people's rally was an attempt to create awareness at No 10 for the plight of so many 100's of thousands that are stil kept 'isolated' in towns and villages that alledgedly symphasised with the rebels, recently crushed my the military of that counrty. This pan that she is holding is an attempt to illustrate that food convoys are not getting in, and that peple are literally starving.

Glad to see your MkII still works :) Congratulations bro, you nailed this one good.
Andre du Plessis  Yeah, and you don't even spot the artifacts due the curry powder clinging to the sensor. Welcome back.
Balazs Pataki  Nah, don't you worry, it's not curry but some oil, grease and sand - I had to use it couple of times as a wrench when our car got stuck.

Really nicely tight in the frame this it adds to the tension & the metaphorical isolation of the subjects. Very impressive Andre very impressive indeed.
Andre du Plessis  Hi Gerard. This was on Sunday when I tested that 'Mindaugas lens', so yes, I managed to frame quite tightly. Had about a 10% crop all sides. Would have liked to get her even closer in the frame, but then you had the arm to the left of her, so had to include that character on the left, who plays the emotion a bit down in my opinion. The wire cage that they moved in worked wonders as a set for onlookers. Thanks for the observation.

hi Andre ,,it is another good sample of a communication between photographer and his subject...great..
Andre du Plessis  Thank you Yavuz. I did indicate to her that she must drum up the passion here, and look straight at me, and she gladly obliged.
Does that still mean that it is documentary..eh?
Yavuz Sariyildiz  demonstrators are always willing to get photographed and to be recognized,it is very normal and with this way they can better express themselves and ...so it is more than an ''eh''...:))

An excellent capture, Andre, very well done, like it a lot!
Andre du Plessis  Thank you Codrin. I do not wish to discuss the purpose of the demo, but the role-acting was superb. Really made me want to explore their purpose more closely.

very good Andre!
Andre du Plessis  Thanks Remo. My 1st demonstration that I photograph. Felt like a reporter, especially with the white barrel rented lens:)
