Sunset in northern Norway
Three days ago i came home from my brothers wedding, and i saw the red sky when i was approaching the city, then i was thinking, this i want to capture one day, the day before yesterday i was trying to get ona trip, but when i was half way to my destination i had to turn around because my fiance had to meet my sisterin law. So yesterday i said,i am going on a trip this night. And i think this is definetli the best pictures i have ever taken.. I love the atmosphere.

Great work!!
Espen André Steinsvik  Thank you very much, it is fun that you people like my work:)
I woted for this.. Love the freedom that the view gives me. Even though i love it, i would like a bit more contrast to give it more dept. In the foreground especially. Other than that i like it alot!
Espen André Steinsvik  Thanks for nice comments. I think i have a bad calibrated screen.. Having some trouble calibrating it, have nothing else than my eyes for calibrating, so if i hit right, i an lucky:) Actually the pic should have had a bit more saturation if i use my current setting, and i agree in what you said about a bit more contrast. But i am still pleased with the results.:)
Very nice, The nature in Norway is amazing.
Espen André Steinsvik  I agree about the nature in norway, but that is if the weather is good. Of course the bad weather has something to, but if it is to much, then it is to much:) Thanks for nice comments..

Espen André Steinsvik  By the way, at this shot i used my sb-600 flash for foreground fill flash...:)
Espen André Steinsvik  Hey,normally i use jpeg with lowest possible compression, and if don't i shoot raw. but as you said, NEF and other raw-formats is heavy shit to work with if your computer is slow as a turtle. But i think the "good" jpegquality works well on my d80. The details can be saved with relatively small loss if the exposure is done with post-exposure prosessing in mind. But off course, the raw-'sis better for that purpose.. but so far i am happy with jpeg..
Ivar Smith-Nilsen  About compression: I have taken lots of advices from Ken Rockweell (www.kenrockwell.com) who knows the Nikon cameras very well, on this point, he thinks the highest compression rate which gives the smallest files is the very best option, but after some years of experience I do not agree any more. Browsing through old digital photos I always wish the shots were bigger in size and had less compression. As one learns more about the possibillities of post-prosessing, one learns also to appreciate the quality of the original photo file.
Beautiful light which illuminates the rocks in front very well. I like the low angle/perspective you chose as well. The sky is slightly "washed out" in the top left but other than that it's a gorgeous sky with those fantastic colors.

Composition-wise I think this works well. My eye starts with the rocks at the bottom then follow the shoreline and curves, following the mountains towards the sun. Well done.
Espen André Steinsvik  Thanks for positive comments.. I wish i had an ND filter at this shot, actually i think the sky is about a full stop or so higher than the rest of the scene. But i tried to balance the exposure between them an then correct the unbalance later in photoshop. The worst was to make the foreground look natural without damaging the quality. But the final result i was very pleased with.
