Something in the presentation of this makes it seem posed - modular, almost. I'm not quite sure what that element is - certainly not a depth of field trick, although it has that feel of those planar shots one sees everywhere now. Perhaps its simply too well composed? All those little squares within squares ... very impressive. I like him too - and now I think of it, it may be that the stillness of the shot comes simply from his having both feet on the ground - what could be a more poetic conclusion that that?
