jimmy hoffman  Thanks Henrik.
Such positive comments I can use, becauce at the moment I'm lacking a bit of self-confidence,feeling very insecure about my work.I have had a lot of rejections the last few weeks and I see so many excellent photographers here with such high-quality pictures that I'm doubting if I ever can reach such a level...
Well time will tell,I guess....
Have a great weekend,
JImmy
Henrik Just  Hi Jimmy

You are talking nonsense, my friend ;-))
Your images and skills are amazing, and many of your motifs don`t "come better" from anyone and anywhere !

But I do know the feeling you´re telling me about, far to well.
I think it´s a matter of motif-choises, and that there always will be a big difference between montages, where everything is possible, and images of a more documentary style like yours. Please don`t get me wrong when I write "documentary style" - what I mean is one single exposure compared to perhaps 20 exposures put together in a montage.
And naked and half-naked women will always be very popular ;-))

I have a couples of images of a capercaillie which very quickly rejected, they are highly praised by nature-photographers, but I think that the images have to many elements in them for 1X. But there are many elements in the nature. I think they are great as nature-photography, but they are not "clean" enough for 1X.
I´m "competing" with captures from bird of prey-shows ( I saw you have one ;-)) ) and captures from zoo´s and places like that, and that is difficult, but caged and tamed animals don´t have my interest.
On the other hand I´m visiting commercial hides, and people who don`t do that, will have troubles "competing" with my photos from the hides, and so on.
I will point out that I do admire nice zoo-shots, good montages and so on, but it`s not my style
I also favor your Machaons on flowers much more than your mantis on a "silverball, not that I don´t like it, but I prefer the "natural thing.
That´s how I am.

Bottom line is that you will be back !
You`re a magnificent photographer !

Have a great weekend, Jimmy !

Regards Henrik

jimmy hoffman  Thanks for your nice reply, amigo.:)
I prefer "the natural thing" too. That's why I admire your work so much!I would have been very happy if I had taken such magnificent bird of prey-photos.And I know how difficult it is.Much more difficult than zoo-shots,that I can like at times as well if it's a special or original shot.
Most of my pictures were taken in a natural setting, but not all of them.Sometimes I'm a bit bored with the 100000th insect on a flower-shot and try to be creative and different(e.g Mantis on a lamp). But I can imagine that some people don't like it or prefering the natural thing. No problema!;)
Well I'm looking forward to seeing new pics of yours here soon too!

Best regards,
Jimmy
