This is a great photo. The light is typical Highland (always much more than it seems!), and the composition is spot on.

John Parminter OK Jedrzej I can see your point. My intention was for a band of light just to illuminate the tree and surrounding area leaving the background un-directly lit to emphasise the tree and this is what I achieved. I value your comments though as each person can have an individual view.

John Parminter Funny you should say about the wind Barbara as it was very windy and even on a tripod I had to increase the shutter to 1/125 sec just to ensure no camera shake, still managed f11 though .... :-)
