llja, this is for me a photo that speaks Russian.. Peter the great, that conquered our common King at the time Carl XII, and hes loss at Narva against Peter in the beginning of the 1700.. Peter loved the light airy feel, with that Divine roofs that would reach out to the gods.. I think your photo tells that story, light and airy.. with lots of space and at the same time, very lonely.. Can you tell me more about the place?

I love the story, you got from this..
I actually don´t know that much about this church: It´s called Suurkirkko or Tuomiokirkko, I don´t know if it has a english name.. It was build I guess around 1850. The architect for the whole area was Carl Ludvig Engel..
It´s located right in the center of Helsinki..
