@ Doug - I used the 50mm f16, iso 100, shutter speed 4' put the D80 on the tripod set it to remote, lighted the little firework in total darkness and I just wrote 2009. I did this a few times with 4 fireworks ... this one I liked most.
And for post processing I just rotate the photo clone out some connection lines between the zeros and the 9 just to be more obvious and added some USM and that's it.
